F.I.R. is committed to sustainability & ESG

Climate change, reducing the carbon footprint:

  • In 2023 we have installed solar panel on the company’s roof generating 30% of our electricity needs
  • We have completely stopped using natural gas. We now only use electricity for heating and cooling
  • We have improved insulation and have switched to LED lighting. We are using remote controlled timers. We use hybrid vehicles and we are continuing in optimization of production equipment.

Well-being and safety at the workplace:

we are committed to employee success, creating a safe, inclusive workplace where our people can grow their professionality. F.I.R. pursues the target of zero lost time injury rate.

Gender equality, human rights and equal opportunities:

F.I.R. is committed to the respect of internationally recognized human rights. We aim for gender equality and are against all types of discrimination. F.I.R. provides all employees with equal opportunities.

Scientific community:

F.I.R. has continuing contacts with technical colleges. We host students for internships and have recently collaborated with Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia, Dipartimento di Ingegneria Enzo Ferrari.

Circular economy:

we have an enhanced focus on recycling and recovery of materials. We have adopted circular practices, in particular recycling and the regeneration of waste of plastic materials. We have also upgraded our injection molds in order to reduce waste during production.

Durability and quality:

F.I.R. does not only pursue circular practices. As opposed to the linear take-make-waste model that has dominated the las decades, at F.I.R. we believe that sustainability also means durability and quality. For the entire lifecycle of our products, from the design, material sourcing, manufacturing and use we have always chosen to produce high quality and durable wheels and casters.
